West Bengal Election Results | Lok Sabha election Results For West Bengal

West Bengal is situated in the eastern part of India and borders the Bay of Bengal. In 2009 elections, Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress dealt a heavy blow to the CPI-M led Left Front. Left lost 7.5% of its vote-share while TMC's share went up by 10.2%.

West Bengal has 42 Parliamentary Lok Sabha constituencies. Unlike many other Indian states, which started with a Congress dominance and slowly shifted towards other political parties, West Bengal has always been a ommunist party state, with the major players being the Forward Block and the CPM.

The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup will be the tenth Cricket World Cup, and will be hosted by three South Asian Test cricket playing countries; India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The World Cup was originally to have been hosted by Pakistan as well, but in the wake of the 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka national cricket team in Lahore, the capital of the Pakistani province of Punjab, the International Cricket Council (ICC) were forced to strip Pakistan of its hosting rights.

The World Cup will take place during the months of February and March 2011, with the first match being played on 19 February 2011.

Osmania University Exams 2009 Postponed
All examinations of the Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Professional Courses of Osmania University scheduled for 23rd, 24th and 26th November, 2009 stand cancelled in view of the GHMC Elections, according to the Controller of Examinations, O.U.
