Kolkata: West Bengal Sports and Transport Minister and senior Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Subhas Chakraborty, is critical and has been put on ventilator. He was admitted in AMRI Hospital in the satellite township of Salt Lake Tuesday night. He is having a malfunctioning kidney, besides severe heart problems.
Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Debasish Sharma said that, Mr. Subhas Chakraborty came to the hospital with respiratory problem, an infected lungs and high fever. His heart is also not ok. So we have shifted him to ventilator.
The minister would be given blood transfusion Sunday night for increasing the platelet count. “Once that is over, we may go for dialysis,” Sharma added.
